The place was wonderful, old but with brand-new rooms. the staff was excellent. - the location was ideal, with restaurants all around, close to St Mark's Square and the vaporetto stops. - I really enjoyed my stay here.

The hotel was the best base for enjoying a safe area, not far from water taxi stops and the gondola trip in the evening, Very close to St Mark's square and the awesome Venice. We appreciated our a nice size room with balcony.

Well decorated and brand-new rooms with climate control, coffee and three large windows, comfortable beds. Comfortable and the best location - a short walk from a Gothic church. Set in a secure area very close to shops, restaurants and bars, and the railway station and the airport.

This lovely little hotel occupies a lovely building in the Venetian style. The setting is ideal, just next door to the many bridges as well as great restaurants. Offers excellent service and good food. It offers self check, in. Only one night stay but was great; hotel staff was extremely nice and ready to help with anything and did. (even with things we didnt know about ie. like getting our train ticket on the island before going to station)

The stay was peaceful, and I would stay here again. It was overall clean, and the staff were very friendly. - Beds were comfortable. - It was in an ideal location, an easy walk to Saint Mark's Square. - Free Wi-Fi was fine, and the service was excellent. - They had a self check-in.

Excellent location near San Marco, easy to reach if you have GPS (definitely saved us), quiet room. This hotel is small and cosy, with attention to details when referring to room design. Friendly staff, small eating room but had its charm. The breakfast was basic in my opinion (to many sweets) – the only thing that can be improved. All in all, I definitely recommend this location.

Excellent location not far from the vaporetto station of San Saccaria next to San Marco and no bridges and steps in between which is so important if one has to shlepp the baggage in Venice. Lovely and originally decorated and clean place to stay. We will come back.

Had a fantastic stay for three nights. Booked a classic double room in lovely Venetian style. - the breakfasts were sumptuous with cheese and views of the orange-tiled rooftops of the city – couldn’t ask for anything better.

We could not have asked for a better hotel or service. The staff were always helpful, courteous, & accommodating. Our room & hotel was very clean & comfortable along with being a great value for what you get with this hotel! The building has so much history being over 500 years old but updated to meet todays needs & comforts. Breakfast brought to our room each morning was such a nice treat! We for sure will stay at this hotel again our next visit to Venice! Thank you Locanda Al Leon & staff for making our first visit to Venice an enjoyable one!

Lovely greeting from Marcella, and she spent a lot of time helping us with maps and locations, which was lovely. You couldn't get a better location than this....less than 3-4 mins walk from St Marks Square, lovely and reasonable restaurants within a couple of mins walk, very easy to get from vaporetto stop to hotel, just a few minutes walk also.

The breakfast selection was sumptuous with wonderful cappuccino. the staff were genuinely helpful all of the time. - It was a short walk to St Mark's Square, the water taxi piers, a laundry mat, and the center of town - the best location overall.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was central to the Pizza San Marco and Grand Canal Vaporetto transport. Our room was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had a rooftop outlook to the Ducal Palace. There was a choice of breakfast being served in the cosy breakfast room or in our room without extra charge. We consider this to be a gem of a hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We where met and made very welcome, by friendly and very helpfull staff. Our room was very clean,smart and comfortable.The hotel is in a good location to many attractions. We would recommend this hotel.

The only downside to the hotel, was the dinning room which is very small. There was no cooked breakfast, but there was plenty to eat.
